Harpoon Lagoon
Make sure to full screen, or the camera won't scale correctly
Welcome to Harpoon Lagoon! A cozy little fishing game where you fish...and then fish some more! Features 11 types of fish, a merchant with simple quests, and boats!
The gameplay is somewhat inspired by Dredge, I've been watching a playthrough recently and both consciously and unconsciously built a similar game, but I hope the fishing aspect feels different enough. I'm pretty happy with the result overall, it could some more balancing, but other than that I was able to finish everything I wanted to.
Note - I didn't get a chance to implement hard boundaries, you won't fall off the map, but it might look strange if you go far enough out
How to play
1. Right click to aim, and left click to launch a harpoon. If you hit a fish, you'll enter fishing mode!
2. While in fishing mode, right click to pull the fish towards you, and left click to fire more harpoons
3. Be careful when pulling the fish, if it puts too much stress on your rope, it'll snap and you'll lose the fish
4. You can kill the fish with harpoons, in which case it won't stress the rope at all to pull it
5. After pulling the fish to the surface, you'll catch it!
6. Bring fish to the merchant to sell them (Press E to interact with the house)!
7. Press U to open the upgrades menu, and spend your new coins! (See below for a description of each upgrade)
